In 2022, our team was tasked with creating a compelling brand identity and holistic strategy for Bookify, a new entrant in the EdTech sector. Starting from the ground up, we conducted an extensive market analysis of competitors to identify opportunities for differentiation. This informed the development of a clear target audience profile and a tailored campaign strategy, ensuring a strong foundation for future growth.
The project included defining Bookify’s tonality and visual identity, encompassing logo design, key visuals, color palette, typography, and photography. Beyond design, we proposed a team structure for campaign implementation, ensuring that every element of the strategy could be executed seamlessly.
The result was a coherent and engaging branding pitch that positioned Bookify as a forward-thinking player in the EdTech space, ready to connect with its audience and establish a memorable presence in the market.
Crafting the Visual and Strategic Foundation for Bookify
The creative process for Bookify began with a dual approach to art direction: visual exploration and strategic grounding. Inspiration was drawn from diverse sources, including books and online research, to spark ideas for colors, typography, and photography. Simultaneously, a conceptual framework was developed through mind mapping, defining keywords, and articulating the tone and core ideas that would shape the art direction.
For Bookify, the color palette was designed to evoke the essence of ancient philosophers, wisdom, and global culture, ensuring it aligned with the product’s educational values. The typography was carefully selected to enhance this concept, with serif fonts chosen for their strong association with books and knowledge. Collaborating with Swiss Typefaces, fonts were selected that seamlessly fit the brand’s overarching vision.
Photography and tonality were essential components of the visual identity. For the case study, stock images from Pexels were utilized to illustrate the concept, though in a real-world scenario, collaborating with photographers would elevate the authenticity of the visuals.
The market analysis and campaign strategy were built on deep design knowledge and professional experience, ensuring alignment with both creative and business goals. By combining strategic thinking with visual storytelling, the result was a comprehensive and cohesive art direction framework that captured Bookify’s purpose and potential.
